Romeo Mignot is a French-American designer and artist whose practice spans furniture, lighting, and sculptural objects. Working primarily with timber, bronze, and other natural materials, he draws on traditional craft techniques to create pieces that balance utility with sculptural form. His work is shaped by a close engagement with material, allowing process to remain visible through split grain, cast surfaces, and hand-applied finishes. Rather than concealing irregularity, Mignot embraces it as an expression of the material's character and history.

Raised between California, Mexico, France, and Australia, and the United Kingdom, Mignot's practice is informed by a broad cultural perspective and an enduring interest in regional craft traditions. After graduating with a BA in Product and Furniture Design from the University of the Arts London, he established a studio practice centred on the relationship between material, process, and place.

Working across one-off pieces and limited editions, Mignot often begins with materials in their raw or minimally processed state, allowing their inherent qualities to guide the final form. Splitting timber rather than sawing it, preserving the textures left by casting, and favouring hand-applied finishes are all part of an approach that values process as much as the finished object. The resulting works seek to preserve a sense of material honesty, where the history of the making remains embedded within each piece.
